Friendly Visit from Drogheda Singers

Seán Faulkner of the Drogheda Singers

The April session of the Clé Club will see a visit from our friends from the Drogheda Singers.
The Drogheda Singers meet every Wednesday evening in the Fairgreen Bar in Drogheda – having previously held court in the renowned Carbery’s Pub until it closed permanently during the pandemic. But for one night only the Fairgreen will be silent as the singers decamp to Liberty Hall in Dublin.
The singers number professional vocalists as well as highly talented amateurs within their ranks. Their collective repertoire includes many of the songs preserved for the tradition by Mary Ann Carolan and the Usher Family including many by the Drogheda-based weaver poet, John Sheil.
As always contributions ‘from the floor’ will be welcome.
Admission: €5
Cois Life Bar, Liberty Hall, Dublin 1.
Wednesday, April 17 7.30pm (Doors open from 7pm)
