
Traditional musicians, Maitiú Ó Casaide and Leonora Lyne, are the special guests at Dublin’s Clé Club on March 19.
An uilleann piper from the renowned Ó Casaide family, with strong musical ties to Gaoth Dobhair, Maitiú is also a founding member of acclaimed band, The Bonny Men. In 2015, he was awarded the TG4 Gradam for Ceoltóir Óg na Bliana (Young Musician of the Year).
Leonora is a flute player deeply influenced by the greats of North Connacht, including Séamus Tansey, John McKenna, Matt Molloy, Catherine McEvoy, and Belfast’s own Harry Bradley. She learned her music at Craobh Naithí in Rathfarnham, studying under teachers such as June McCormack and Sarah Jane Woods.
Fear a’tí for the session will be piper, Noel Pocock, who will also encourage contributions from the floor in song, verse or music.
Doors open from 7pm. Admisison is €5.
