Clé Abhaile with S.J. McArdle

Our featured performer at the Clé Abhaile Zoom session in July is singer, songwriter, musician and curator, SJ McArdle.

SJ’s latest project, Port, is a live show featuring Carol Keogh based on a song-cycle with its accompanying album, Old Ghosts in the Water. His previous work was with the award-winning Irish traditional band Kern from 2013 to 2020. Before joining Kern, SJ was a solo artist in Nashville and Germany, and released the critically-acclaimed album Blood and Bones in 2014. SJ is also one third of Long Woman’s Grave along with Nuala Kennedy and Trevor Hutchinson.

SJ’s songs and performances have been featured in radio, film and television and he has toured and recorded extensively in Ireland, Europe and North America, gathering a loyal following and critical accolades along the way.
