Wednesday, June 19th. 8pm. Liberty Hall, Dublin 1.
Our special guest in June is Liam O’Connor who has been widely recognised as one of Ireland’s leading fiddle players. Winner of the TG4 Gradam Ceoil for Young Musician of the Year in 2002, he has matured into a performer of the highest calibre – earning him a nomination for Best Folk Instrumentalist in the inaugural RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards last year.
His solo album, The Loom, was voted Traditional Album of the Year in 2017 by the Irish Times. As well as being an acclaimed performer, Liam is also recognised for his extensive research into the history of traditional music. Liam and his father, Mick, created their own place of history when in 2017 when Mick also received a Gradam for Outstanding Contribution to Traditional Music.
Our second special guest is the very fine traditional singer, Aoife Ni Chaomhánach. A popular performer at the Bray Singing Circle and many other singing clubs, Aoife has an extensive repertoire of songs in both Irish and English.
In addition to our special guests, contributions from the floor will also be welcome in what should be a great night.
