David Ingerson has been singing traditional Irish songs for over 40 years. He has visited Ireland on numerous occasions to attend and perform at music and singing festivals and sessions; and to collect songs and research the backgrounds of songs.

During his visits he has studied traditional singing under dozens of notable Irish singers, including Paddy Tunney, Róisín White, Lillis Ó Laoire and Séamus Mac Mathuna. He has performed on the stages of folk clubs throughout the Northwest of the USA, including the Northwest Folklife Festival in Seattle, Tumbleweed Music Festival in Richland, and the Princeton (BC) Traditional Music Festival, and has presented workshops at numerous folk singing camps and festivals.

He helped found the Sean-nós Northwest Festival of old-style Irish singing, dancing, and the Irish language, as well as being the president (now emeritus) of the Portland Folk Music Society. He has produced one CD of traditional Irish songs in the old style and a number of acclaimed live-streamed concerts.
